Well seeing as no one had tooted or blown their own horn i thought i mose well toot mine  although this is totally un party plan related.

My daughter started at high school this year and although she was really worried about it, the whole thing has been made so much easier by her making a new friend. The friend had gone to a different primary school and they hit it off instantly. So much so that as they live on the way to school the friends father rang me and asked if he could give my daughter a lift too and from school for part of the week and if i would do the other couple of days. This suited me well as i have a 17mth old and its not always easy to get him going in time to get my daughter to school. So anyway i met her friend for the first time yesterday morning as it was my first time to pick her up.....(here comes the toot my own horn bit) my daughter told me after they had been dropped off that her friend told her she had a REALLY NICE mum and then added No I MEAN REALLY REALLY nice mum :) hahah so nice to know i made a good first impression.

I basically was just being me and cracking my usual corny jokes haha but yeah it made me feel good!!

Well sorry if i bored you all to sleep - i can never take short cuts. Always go the long way round haha. My partner is always saying get to the point get to the point and i just cant oh gawd i am still waffling haha ok well i will finish for now

perhaps

yep ok bye for now

Thanks Rach i was a little chuffed by it at the time. :)

Although dont know if she will still think i am so cool after this weekend haha.

My daughter went straight home from school with her on friday and was to stop over just one night.....but no she had to ring to extend it (this was her first time staying there and had only known them for just under 2 weeks) anyway she pleads her case and that she has to keep her friend company at a market that her mother sells at so i weaken and say ok. So she has the 2 nights there and then when i call her to tell her i am going to pick her up she begs to stay another 1/2 hour - i put my foot down and say no as i think she has had a fair innings this weekend and needed her to do a few things and so i send my partner over to collect her while i am attending my young son and low and behold he arrives back with my daughter AND the friend!!! right on tea time and boy was i mad!!

It seems sometimes giving and giving is just not enough and they dont know where to call it quits. I can recall having a close friend too when i was her age but she does need to learn that sleepovers have to end some time. DOH!!! Ok said enough hehe maybe i need a gripes section on here too!! haha

Hi Kathy

hehe i think we were posting at the exact same time cos i had posted an update and noticed a spelling error and went to fix it and then your message appeared hehe. Well thanks - my daughter has her moments but i do try hard to do the right thing. But boy she did press my buttons by her friend coming home on tea time after having had the whole weekend together. Mind you my partner was a little sheepish when i said to him why didnt you just say no and he said he was caught off guard haha wimp!!!

Hi Snazza,

She will get the hang of it that the sleep over's do have to end. And if you partner couldnt say no yes wimp did come to mind, hehehe!! Now he might realise how hard it is for you.

Thats teenagers for you pushing you to the limit.
