Post subject: I've jumped on the band wagon/xmas in July

Hi Guys,

I would love to say this idea was mine, but alas I must admit I stole it from Ren and I think it would be great to have a Xmas in July down here in Vic. Romsey/Lancefield gets very cold in Winter, sometimes we have snow so we do get that European Xmas feel.

July for many of us is the transition from our winter season to summer season. So this would be a great time to secure some forward bookings whilst still having a great ole time.

I am looking for about 10-12 partyplanners who would be interested in participating in this event. I thought I would keep it small initially as a practice run and then can expand to bigger and better things for a possible 'pink ribbon event' in support of breat cancer research.

I have placed a tentative booking with a winery/spa retreat/conference centre in the macedon ranges. Who will provide sparkling wine and finger food/desserts. The cost for attendees would be $36 per head or $30 if we omitt the dessert bar.

My proposal is a slight variation to the theme: 'Girls Christmas Shopping in July'. The night would incorporate a fashion show, and for this reason I seek pp's in the area of fashion, beauty and pampering.

The cost for a pp to participate would be $35 plus a gift for under the Xmas tree valued $15+. Remember the location is Macedon Ranges and the proposed date is Sunday 20 July.

So far we have:
myself from XcessoriseMe/Tip Toes with shoes & handbags
Postie fashions
5th Avenue Collection
Forevor Living (beauty & wellness)

As I am limited to the pp's I am able to have, I will not be able to double up with product lines. If anyone is interested please let me know. First in best dressed. As I am required to place a deposit with the winery to secure this date and event, I must request that pp acceptance can only be confirmed once the $35 is paid.

Hope to hear from you
Cris

This is my first time in organising such an event, so if I have left anything out, please let me know. Cheers

Well done Cris, What a marvellous idea to have one in Victoria as well. I know Ren quite well and I know she would be thrilled she had given you the idea.
I would have jumped at the chance to be involved but as I am of course in between gigs as they say I cant. But if you do need any help with the organizing please let me know, I have arranged alot of social events from my Telstra days and am a born organizer like my mum. So just give a shout if you need a hand.
How exciting. Good Luck!!

Just a thought Cris...great idea by the way..but maybe somewhere a bit more central...would be better..bit concerned about the $36- is that what the clients would pay?? and then we would like them to shop....

Just thinking is that too much to expect......and it may be a fair way away for some...(I actually am not familiar with Mac ranges...) and am concenred on getting numbers there...

Any way just some thoughts....that is all...

Well done ...cheers..Kathy

I would have to agree with Kathy on this point Cris. I do think its a great idea. But I do think the location needs to be looked at as well as the cost.
The idea with the success of these kinds of things is to keep costs down as low as possible. And I am also not familar with the Macedon ranges.
Without wanting to step on any toes perhaps we could get quotes from other venues and see what else is on offer before making a final decision? Just a thought. Let me know I am happy to make some calls.
